| Emek HaShalom: "The Valley of Peace"
Lotem is a non profit organization located on an ecological farm in Emek HaShalom. Our farm has a very special history. It was established in the beginning of 1960 by a German Christian that came to Israel on his personal search for peace. Since that time, four other Germans - Mr. Asher, Mr. Adrian, Mr. Herman and Mr. Josef - lived and work on the farm, with their story becoming a part of the history of the farm itself. Those man took a small piece of nature and turn it into heaven.
Today the farm is operated by a non-profit organization called Lotem. Lotem's mission is to bring children and adults with special needs into the nature. On the farm, we teach those wonderful people how to make olive oil, grape juice and pita bread. We also teach them ancient ways to grow fruit and vegetables. Only one person lives on the farm full time. High school graduates, doing their national service, come to the farm to instruct the groups.
We looking for two volunteers to share the life on the farm. In the beginning we will all share the same house until we can renovate one of the old farm houses to be use for the volunteers. We need help with our organic gardens and renovating a few more buildings on the farm. Volunteers must to be able to live and work in a small group. They must also be able to commit for a minimum of two months, with a 2-week trial period in the beginning.
The farm is located in the middle of a forest, a 10-minute drive back to the main road, where there is a small town with every thing you need. It is a half-hour ride to Haifa and a one-hour ride to Tel Aviv. The farm is surrounded by 5 kibbutzim that have many volunteers from all around the world that can provide you with some social life. We will encourage you to take time to travel in Israel and enjoy our country.
For more details about our organization you can visit Lotem web site http://lotem.cet.ac.il/aboutEng.asp You can also write to Yosef at yosefmelol@gmail.com with any questions you may have.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Bordering on the forest between Haifa & Nazareth, our space is dedicated to a sustainable life vision, educating toward healing awareness creation and music.
At the moment the place is in development and formation. These days we are creating natural water pools with plant purification, wetlands with grey water recycling systems, rainwater collection pools, construction of stone terraces and wooden structures, Nurturing the local elements made of natural materials: an orchard, vegetable beds, creating a Yurt, Temascal from earth, clay oven and sitting areas. On the premises we also learn and teach cooking vegetarian and raw food, creation from natural materials, being in touch with nature & working with plants, natural cosmetics and healing with sound & theta. Occasionally we conduct unique desert tours.
We invite people who like simplicity and wish to work with focus, will and love. the food is Vegetarian and suitable for kosher keepers. Around us is charming community that binds nature with culture.
Simple living conditions in tents and a main central structure. The garden is Enchanting and the work requires openness and accuracy.

| Our family farm is located in the desert, with a breathtaking view of the mountains surrounding it. It is south of the Dead Sea and north of the coastal city, Eilat. We cultivate a variety of animals, vegetables and fruit. The work day consists of six hours, six days a week; there is greenhouse work and goat cheesemaking. Volunteering on the farm can be for short (minimum two weeks) or long term periods. We provide accommodation and food. Cooking is done communally and is vegetarian and kosher. Afternoons are social time and we encourage initiative for activities. Horses and bicycles on the farm can be a great way to explore the area, as well as hiking. At night, we and the volunteers run our small local pub. We offer a challenging experience which includes learning the workings of a sustainable agricultural desert farm, meeting new and interesting people, and the amazing atmosphere of the Arava desert. |

| We are a family with two young children, operate a small ( 12 dunam or 3 acres) organic vegetable farm on Moshav relatively close to the center of the country, but still in a beautiful and undeveloped area between Beit Shmesh and Kiryat Malchi.
The work expected of a volunteer, mainly helping to maintain, plant and harvest, is not strenuous.
I would like a volunteer to stay at least two to three months. When you decide to leave to give two weeks notice. The work schedule is six hours a day five days a week, but I am willing to be flexible for extra time off if there is not a lot to do.
We originally from the US (I grew up on a dairy farm in upstate NY).
We grow a wide variety of vegetables and greens as possible since we market directly to homes.
The living quarters for the volunteer (right now we can accommodate one person or a couple - a child we would have to talk about) are self contained. We want the volunteer to feel as part of our family as possible (especially if you connect with our children). When we sit down for a meal the volunteer will be welcome otherwise they have to cook for themselves..
it is not a problem to be picked up when you arrive.
