Farm204
In a beautiful valley, nestled in the wild primal hills of the Region, lies the Farm. The farm is found on crossroads between ancient caves where people once found a hiding place, and other historical remnants. The Farm is an ecological autarkic farm, which develops sustainable agriculture methods. We operate and live to consume mostly what we produce. The farm was founded in April 2011 and remains in constant development. The farm houses: * A goat pen for organic milk. the goats graze around the farm. * Free chickens * An organic, colourful vegetable garden which works in the cycles of seasonal vegetables and is watered with recycled farm water. * A biogas system that consumes the organic waste from the eco-toilet, the chicken and goat waste and food leftovers, and produces gas. * An orchard * A rain water hoarding system * A shop-trailer with the farm's produce. Combined, these make a living museum for a sustainable way of life, combining the natural energy with the daily farm activities, thus creating a consistent cycle that is connected to the environment. The work in the farm: - Taking care of the goats and taking the herd out to graze - Working in the vegetable garden - Developing the farm with natural elements such as making stone pathways and building ecological playground for children, with equipment made of recycled material, wood and ropes, and building an outdoor mud stove, etc. - On Saturdays, travellers from all over the country come to see the farm, and in the afternoons join our open stage to perform music. There is plenty of work selling our products from our selling trailer and giving the crowd a farm-style warm welcome. In addition to all that, we are always glad for the volunteers' initiative and ideas. We prefer a long volunteering period of a month and more, but a short stay is also welcome. Currently we have an eco-built shared room for three volunteers available. We offer accommodation, food and other provisions. We cook and eat mostly vegetarian food together every day. Most importantly, all we do is done in the best of spirits while we learn from our work and from one another.
